Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
This young and very popular area with Belgian-block paved streets, waterfront parks, and artsy boutiques. Dumbo has so many great places to take photos that I think I would have to write about each one of them in different posts.
Today I will talk about one of the most iconic photos that can be taken in this part of Brooklyn which is probably the one with the Manhattan Bridge in the Background.
There's a street called "Washington Street" where the buildings frame the bridge perfectly in the center of the path and the Manhattan bridge frames the Empire state beneath it. Everything was thoroughly aligned to give us this amazing view and a great opportunity to take a cool photo for Instagram. Here is where you can position yourself and get the perfect shot with the bridge, the nice cobblestone street, The Empire State and the skyline.
HOW TO GET THERE: The closest train station is called "York Street" where the F train (Orange line) stops. You can also take A, C train (Blue line) to the "High-Street Brooklyn Bridge" station, but you would have to walk for around 8 minutes to get to the heart of Dumbo.
CROWDEDNESS: Like the other locations I have mentioned in my previous NYC GUIDE posts, this one also gets very crowded especially during the weekends where families and tourists want to walk around and get a nice meal close to the water and the great view.
This place can get very crowded on Saturdays and if you want to take the popular photo with the bridge, you would probably have people in your background (not good if you want all the attention of people looking at your photograph).
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Your best chance to take an awesome photo is probably during the week especially Monday to Thursday, between 7AM - 11AM, 3PM - 5PM.
POSES: The basic pose is definitely the one where you place yourself in the middle of the street facing the camera directly, but you should be original and try to frame the bridge and yourself from other angles.

Dumbo, acrónimo de "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass" - lo que significa Debajo bajo del puente de Manhattan, es un vecindario en el distrito de Brooklyn de la ciudad de Nueva York.
Esta área es muy popular, de gente joven, con calles pavimentadas con bloques belgas, parques frente al rio y boutiques artísticas. Dumbo tiene demasiados lugares excelentes para tomar fotografías que creo que tendré que escribir sobre cada uno de ellos en diferentes publicaciones.
Hoy hablaré sobre una de las fotos mas icónicas que pueden ser tomadas en esta parte de Brooklyn, y esta es probablemente la que tiene el Puente de Manhattan de fondo.
Hay una calle llamada "Washington Street" donde los edificios enmarcan el puente perfectamente en el centro de la calle y el puente de Manhattan enmarca el "Empire State" debajo de él igualmente. Todo esta completamente alineado para darnos esta increíble vista y la perfecta oportunidad para tomar una foto muy cool para nuestro Instagram!. Aquí es donde puedes posicionarse y obtener la toma perfecta con el puente, la bonita calle adoquinada, el Empire State y el horizonte.
CÓMO LLEGAR: La estación de tren más cercana se llama "York Street", donde se detiene el tren F (línea naranja). También puede tomar el tren A, C (línea azul) hasta la estación "High-Street Brooklyn Bridge", pero tendrán que caminar durante unos 8 minutos para llegar al corazón de Dumbo.
MULTITUD: Al igual que los otros lugares que he mencionado en mis publicaciones anteriores de la GUÍA DE NYC, este también se llena demasiado de gente, especialmente durante los fines de semana, donde las familias y los turistas quieren caminar y disfrutar de una buena comida cerca del agua y de la gran vista.
Este lugar puede llegar a estar muy concurrido los sábados y si tu meta es tomar la popular foto con el puente, probablemente tendrás personas en el fondo - lo cual no es bueno si tu quieres toda la atención de las personas que miran tu fotografía.
MEJOR MOMENTO PARA VISITAR: su mejor oportunidad para tomar una foto increíble es probablemente durante la semana, especialmente de lunes a jueves, entre las 7 a.m. y las 11 a.m., de 3 p.m. a 5 p.m.
POSES: La postura básica es definitivamente aquella en la que te colocas directamente en el medio de la calle frente a la cámara, pero debes ser original e intentar enmarcar el puente y a ti mismo desde otros ángulos.
