Today I bring you a recount of my visit to the event "Expocolombia Internacional" which was held at the Miami Airport Convention center from April 20 to 22nd , and where I had the opportunity to be present as press in the fashion shows that ended each days of the event.
To start this post, I show you my video summary of some of the runways, and my description of each one is below of it...
Fashion shows on Saturday, April 21st were opened with an exhibition of body painting, it was related of Colombia areas and representative symbols, with the sponsorship of Aguardiente 1493.
Samy Gicherman was the guest designer from Venezuela who showed us very loose silhouettes like wide boot pants, kimonos, etc.the fashion show ended with the gathering of four designs with sequins.
Viclas was one of the most crafted collection of the night. It had a mix of fabrics that goes from crochet to lace, and was adapted for a summer season.
Wama Collection was focused on high-impact colors and it is completely tropical. It had ornaments depicting the sea; Wama definitely was based on the Colombian coasts.
Marcela Aleans was one of the catwalks that present a lot of color. This designer mixed different prints mostly tribals, and took the color blocking trend thus showing another version of the maxi dress.
El bolsito verde con forma ovalada definitivamente uno de mis favoritos y me fascinaria tenerlo.
Forgavi: It was the runway dedicated to handbags. There were exhibited from totes to purses in materials like suede and cowhide.
The oval-shaped green purse definitely was one of my favorites, and I would love to have it.
Arena Blanca: Swimsuits full of floral prints and stripes. Maria del Carmen, the creator of this brand especially designed each piece to highlight the woman's body.
Paradizia Swimwear: showed the sirens world reflecting every detail of it on their bathing suits, also the brand had the participation on the runway of the actress Maritza Rodriguez.
Liliana Esquivia presented her collection which main theme was the butterflies. Bags and shoes were the owners of the runway because its set of colors and details were pieces to stand out.
D'la Cruz was a collection that you could not miss because this brand is dedicated to the elaboration of Arhuaca backpacks that are very representative of Colombia.
Alfonso Mendoza: accessories, especially necklaces and bracelets with big stones.
Angel Yañez: One of the most renowned fashion designers in Colombia was in charge of closing the fashion exhibition with his Couture Collection showing which had the colors black and gray.
