The CFDA awards are extremely important for fashion designers and people in the fashion industry. The council of fashion designers of America selects the most influential and innovative designers every year and this year wasn't the exception. As a fashion designer myself I know how meaningful this event is and I want to share with you everything about it, from the winners to the red carpet.  I also want to talk about what the designers and celebrities wore for the gala and show you some of the lookbooks from the winners of the awards. So please keep reading to find more about the CFDA Awards.

WINNERS
Fashion Icon Award:
Beyoncé Knowles
Pantsuit and hat by Givenchy Couture with $9 million of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Womenswear Designer of the Year:
Marc Jacobs
Marc Jacobs won designer of the year with his Fall 2016 collection. I was impressed to hear about it because I thought that after all the scandals the past year, that was going to affect his label. But I guess this is not about Jacobs' life , it is about his designs. Congrats!

Menswear Designer of the Year:
Thom Browne
Thom Browne always wearing his famous and elegant bermuda shorts. I adore his designs and his Fall 2015 was avant-garde and elegant at the same time. Very cool with raw edges and different treatments with the classic suit fabrics.
